Experience
As a consultant to the nuclear industry and the U.S. Department of Energy, Anne spent years analyzing the management and organizational dynamics within nuclear power plants and utilities. She interviewed and counseled hundreds of industry leaders as part of an effort to address organizational ineffectiveness in training and communication related to emergency situations.
 
At Columbia University, Anne first managed the move and merger of a large-scale scientific research laboratory from the University of California to Columbia. After completing the integration, Anne was approached to utilize her skills in the university’s central human resources department, where she facilitated the redesign of the department and managed the extensive change management efforts required. As part of the transition, Anne was promoted to director of the university’s faculty and staff services group, responsible for all services directly required by the more than 12,000 employees.
 
After spending several years as an independent consultant, Columbia management invited Anne to return to assist in establishing a new government-funded international research program involving numerous collaborators worldwide, many with significant gaps in management skills. Anne’s contribution therefore required not only establishing an administrative management structure but also extensive coaching and development of project leaders.
 
In 2008, Anne relocated with her family to Berlin, Germany

Professional Expertise

With more than 25 years’ broad experience in leadership and organizational effectiveness, Anne has functioned as advisor to a variety of leaders. Her background includes direct experience in both internal and external consulting, as well as management of programs, projects, teams and departments. She has demonstrated skill in a wide range of organizational issues including leadership development, women in management, team diversity, strategic planning, management of organizational change, coaching, training, conflict resolution and mediation. Her human resources management experience encompasses the functions of recruitment, compensation, benefits and development.

Education, Qualifications & Professional Positions
Anne earned a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology, with a focus on leadership studies, from Columbia University in New York.
Invited presentations include speeches at the MIT Sloan School of Business, utility owners’ groups and the Nuclear Utility Management and Resources Council. In addition, Anne’s work has been presented at the Human Factors Society annual meeting.
